Bhakti Yoga Inspired Hatha Practice
About Course
We practice embodying the qualities of Hindu deities / Divine energies through the asana practice of Hatha Yoga.
We would like to bring a sense of devotion and love into the physical practice to feel deeper into our heart and soul.
Each class is offered towards a specific deity to draw the essence of each unique divine quality within.
Practice is here for us to remember who we truly are in this world.
1. Ganesha – Stability & Freedom (60 minutes)

Ganesha is known as a remover of obstacle. He is stable and steady, yet open and free. He is also known as the Lord of knowledge as he is the scriber of the Indian ancient epic Mahabharata. He is the guardian deity at the root center, Muladhara Chakra.
With this standing poses focused Hatha practice, we learn to ground through the feet and root into our foundation while keeping the freedom of the torso, just as Ganesha dances with standing on one leg though having a big pot belly, which is a symbolism of digesting everything in life.
2. Shiva – Stillness & the Pillar of Light (60 minutes)
Shiva is formless and unchanging limitlessness, pervasiveness, transcendence, ground of being, underlying background of everything, field of pure awareness, and ultimate reality. With this Shiva inspired Hatha sequence that includes seated postures and inversions, we learn to embody the stillness within and beyond.
3. Lakshmi – Opening the Lotus Heart with Backbends (60 minutes)
Lakshmi is the Goddess of Love, Beauty, Abundance, Harmony, Home, Fortune, Wealth, and the Prosperity of the Heart. The practice aims to embody Lakshmi and prosper the heart frequency through a series of heart openers (back bending postures).
4. Kali – Transformation & Liberation (60 minutes)
Kali is the Goddess of Transformation and Liberation. She also represents the death of our own inner demon, limited mental patterns and belief system. Let’s practice with a sense of empowerment to bring forth what is necessary to breakthrough with the grace of Kali. The practice includes mudra, mantra, pranayama and mantra to purify and open towards the radical freedom.
5. Saraswati – The Flowing One (65 minutes)
Saraswati is the Goddess of Knowledge, Wisdom, Intuition, Music, Art, and Learning.
The practice aims to invoke and embody Saraswati.

6. Hanuman – Devotion to Dharma and Prema (60 minutes)
Hanuman is the Lord of Devotion, Dedication, Humility, and Loyalty. Hanuman appears in the great Hindu epic Ramayana as a crucial part of the Earth’s history, and Hanuman is fully devoted to serving with love for Lord Rama and His queen Sita. Hanuman is the embodiment of the spirit of Bhakti Yoga, and he is the unwavering devotion and faith to Dharma and love. The asana practice includes Ardha Chandrasana, Sirsasana 2, Warrior III, and Hanumanasana to invoke courageous love and devotion.
7. Krishna – Offering to the Source of All Existence (60 minutes)
Krishna is the original father of ourselves and everything else. He is the origin of each and every one of us. He is our father, our mother, our refuge, our support, and our most dear friend. When we speak of Krishna, we are speaking of the Supreme Personality of Godhead who is the all-pervading oneness, the cause of all causes, the original person with all kinds of opulence, the localized guardian in the heart of all beings. The practice includes standing flow movement, Gomukhasana, and Shoulderstand sequence.
